Addis Ababa City Tour
After visiting the museum, you will drive to Trinity cathedral Church. This church is the highest ranking Orthodox cathedral in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was built to commemorate Ethiopia’s liberation from Italian occupation and is the second most important place of worship in Ethiopia, after the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion in Axum.
In the Afternoon, you will visit the enthralling Ethnological museum Set within Haile Selassie’s former palace which is surrounded by the beautiful gardens and fountains of Addis Ababa University’s main campus. Even if you’re not normally a museum fan, this one is worth a bit of your time – it’s easily one of the finest museums in Africa.
Later, you drive to Mercato and visit the largest open market in Africa. (Please be advised waking in group is tough due to its crowded and chaotic situations, with the intention to avoid inconveniences you will drive through the market). The primary merchandise passing through the Merkato is locally-grown agricultural products — most notably coffee. Finally, you will be transferred to your hotel to take some break.
In the evening you will attend a folklore dinner where you will have a chance to taste several local dishes and watch dances of Ethiopia’s various ethnic groups. The traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony will also be served.

Excursion to the Rift Valley Lakes: Lakes Abijata, Langano and Shala
Among the many interesting geographical features of the Great Rift Valley is Ethiopia’s lakes region. These seven lakes are rich in nature and are particularly abundant with bird life. Lake Langano is the only one somewhat developed for tourism and safe for swimming, boating, water skiing, fishing and just for recreation. Lakes Abijata and Shala constitute a national park of the same name. Although they are separated by only a 3 km strip of land, the two lakes are quite different. Shala, the southern lake is enclosed in a 266 m deep crater while Abijata is a large shallow brackish lake no more than 14 m deep. Shala is mostly inaccessible, except for its eastern shores with steaming hot springs, hot enough for instant cooking.
